A Long Week

Last Thursday Ellie woke up with a fever that topped out at 102.8. The temp came and went for two days and she didn't even attempt to eat anything. By Saturday she was feeling alot better. Then, Wyatt and I came inside to rest after playing in the hot weather. He sat in the chair with me while I rocked him. He was burning up... his temp...102.2. After a night of cold chills and throwing up, he said he felt better Sunday morning, although he didn't look so good.

By Sunday night, I was thinking I wasn't feel so well. Monday I ended up with a sore throat, which was no big deal. My sore throat kept getting worse and by Wednesday night I was hurting pretty bad and had sores all over my throat. I had noticed Wyatt had red dots on the bottom of his feet but he said they didn't hurt. Wednesday night my feet were hurting really bad and I noticed a few of those spots on my hand and feet.

So, Thursday morning, I loaded up the kids and headed to the doctor. She knew exactly what was going on as soon as I told her about the kids and me. We all have...Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease! It affects people in different ways and between the kids and I we had all the symptoms. Of course, there is NOTHING they can give for relief. The doc said it should go away within 7-10 days. It's a virus we were so lucky to have picked up!

This morning my throat is alot better and I can eat comfortably again. As far as my feet, they still hurt, but I think I am getting used to the pain. I think the kids are finally over all this.

Because of the virus, we postponed our trip to Lake of the Ozarks until next weekend. Hopefully, JR will stay clear of the virus and we will all be healthy soon!!
